The MaxXX Zone core uses the same inner core shape as the Smash Zone. However, the weight distribution between the inner core and outer core has been adjusted to raise the overall RG, so even with its aggressive PlaZma coverstock, the MaxXX Zone will clear the fronts and provide maximum traction in the mid and the back-ends even on the tightest lane conditions. To maximize the performance of the MaxXX Zone, Brunswick has developed the new PlaZma coverstock. PlaZma sticks to the lane and continues to traction strong when other coverstocks break loose from the lane. When combined with the MaxXX Zone core this gives an unbeatable combination to attack the oiliest lane conditions and provide unparalleled lane hugging traction and recovery.
Being a big fan of the Brunswick Smash Zone I was very excited to get my hands on this ball. Brunswick’s MaxXX Zone core uses the same inner core shape as the Smash Zone. However, the weight distribution between the inner core and outer core has been adjusted to raise the overall RG. I Drilled mine 5″ from my pap @ 45* without an extra hole and a finish of 4000 abralon and no polish. The first thing I noticed was how strong it picked up in the mid-lanes with out losing its back end punch. For me this ball is about 5 boards stronger than my Smash Zone. It gave me more area when the lanes were fresh, but as the lanes broke down I had chased the shot in and could still get the ball to recover and give strong continuous motion through the pin deck. The MaxXX Zone is a very strong yet versatile ball. When you need that little extra on tight lane conditions you should give strong consideration to this ball.
The Twisted Fury Destruction introduces Brunswick’s new XLERATOR coverstock, combining length you can count on with the back-end reaction you crave to provide pin destructing power.
Coverstock
The new XLerator coverstock has been formulated with two main goals in mind. First, to create length through the heads, both when they’re fresh and after they’ve broken down. Second, to create a strong angular move at the breakpoint in order to provide increased pin-carrying ball reaction. The XLerator coverstock succeeds at achieving both of these goals, giving you unparalleled reaction with a ball that gets to the spot and returns hard to the pocket.
Core
Good coverstocks become great when paired with a core that accentuates their strengths. After testing a wide range of cores (both new and old designs) with the new XLerator coverstock, the core that gave the absolute best reaction was the Torsion Asymmetric Core. This core/coverstock combo make the Twisted Fury Destruction rev up hard and hug the lane without hooking early. The medium RG asymmetric design of the core then turns loose the power of the coverstock on the back-end, unleashing destructive force on the pins.
I drilled my Twisted Fury Destruction 5 1/2 from pap @45* without a weight hole. This ball was clean through the heads, but very strong and continuous through the pin deck. Although Some pearls tend to squirt and be hard to predict on the wet/dry conditions, but this one seems to grip any friction and just keep going. On our fresh house shot this ball let me play the lanes straighter with a very strong angular move towards the pin deck, but it was when the lanes broke down that this ball came to life. The destruction got through the heads as they were breaking down, but it still had a strong continuous motion and great carry. This core/cover combination are amazing together. Just feed the ball out toward friction and watch it return.Thank you Brunswick for delivering another great piece of equipment
